Our MandateTO PROVIDE A POST-MODERN ENVIRONMENT FOR ARTISTS TO CREATE, CONVERSE AND COLLABORATE WITH VARIOUS ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES. TO PROVIDE A BRIDGE TO THE AVANT-GARDE AND PROVOKE DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE ARTIST AND THE COMMUNITY.TO CREATE LIVE MOVEMENT, SOUND, IMAGES, VOICE, WORDS AND EVERYTHING ELSE.TO COMBINE ALL THE CULTURES THAT EXSIST IN CANADA WHO REPRESENT AND LIVE THE CANADIAN SPIRIT, PEACE AND CREATIVITY.TO PROVIDE COLLABORATIVE MULTI-DISCIPLINED PERFORMANCES AND WORKSHOPS TO EXHIBIT THE UNLIMITED CULTURAL BOUNDARIES, BRINGING NEW VISIONS TO OUR BEING.TO PROVIDE THE BRITISH COLUMBIAN AND CANADIAN COMMUNITY WITH AN ENLIGHTENING POST-MODERN AND THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE.
(ANU is the main production)
ANU is a three-evening celebration of improvised music, dance, spoken-word, and visual art. ANU is the story of creation, revealed through 22 artists in a multi-media, multi-ethnic experiment. What would happen if everyone actually tried to become one?! Can we create the universe according to our own specifications? Such aspirations are the creative force behind ANU. The objective of each artist is to “become one” by defying their own creative agendas. The production’s goal is to perform dynamic, continuously creative art over the course of the evening, and over three nights. The result is a story set among stirring whispers, vibrant visual landscapes, crescendos of driving rhythms, curious fragments of thoughts, rousing ensembles and beautiful arias. Each night is distinct for the performers and audiences, and a whole unto itself. Everyone—including the audience—influences this story. ANU is also the name of the Sumerian Sun-God, whose spirit has been invoked for our purposes. Anu had one major responsibility in Sumerian mythology: to distribute among the other Gods, the powers to create the universe. Ambition soon swelled in and around the Gods--the same ambition Anu had in him, too. He said they all must encourage the highest level of understanding by always listening with the good of others first in your heart, and speaking the truth. The Gods did aspire greatly to that. Artists attempt their creations with the same purity. ANU was conceived among the destructive flashes and residues of the first War in Iraq: what, if in that moment of light, the result could be pure creation instead of destruction? ANU is three nights of anticipation, creation, and celebration--a chance to metaphorically rewrite the laws of the universe in a highly engaging and entertaining way.

Chor Leoni Men's Choir
http://www.chorleoni.org
The on-line home of Canada's premiere male choir. Since its creation in 1992 by conductor Diane Loomer, Chor Leoni (choir of lions) has become a fixture in the upper echelons of the Canadian choral world. A combination of riveting stage presence, imaginative and eclectic programming, quality a cappella singing, and a willingness to “try anything once” has captivated audiences across Canada and guaranteed wildly enthusiastic sell-out crowds wherever the lions appear. The choir was invited to represent the C.B.C. in the European Broadcasting Union’s prestigious Let the Peoples Sing 2003 International Choral Competition in the Adult Choir category. Competing against choirs from twenty-one countries, Chor Leoni was the only North American choir and the only male choir to advance to the finals, and placed fourth overall. Yuletide Fires, the choir’s Christmas CD on the Skylark label, received the 2004 Outstanding Choral Recording Award from the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors, and a Western Canadian Music Award as Outstanding Classical Recording 2004. Chor Leoni recently released Canadian Safari 2 on the Cypress Choral Recording label, a double CD sequel to the very popular Canadian Safari.

Laurel Terlesky
http://laurelterlesky.ca
Laurel Terlesky has been practicing as a professional visual artist for more than ten years after completing her BFA degree, majoring in visual art (painting) from the University of Victoria. She creates canvases that are largely abstract in style built around an awareness of the human form and kinetic movement. Themes that have developed a language in her work revolve around electricity & power, sustainable energy practises, spirituality, and the human body as it relates to spatial environment. Her paintings also challenge our awareness of space by illustrating optical, illusionary space or by flattening space or by creating depth with solid colour placement. Her works often have the additional elements added to make the painting become a 3 dimensional object giving it a presence on to its own. She has exhibited her work in Whistler, Squamish, Victoria, Vancouver, Montreal and San Francisco.
Laurel recently spent a month at an international artist residency in Barcelona, Spain working on future projects.

LETS FIND A WAY
http://www.letsfindaway.ca
Let’s Find A Way is a labour of love or “kenoronhkwa” (in the Mohawk language of the Iroquois confederacy, it is the word for love medicine) that began with the hopes of bringing international attention and relief to children either affected or infected by the HIV virus. It’s a concern that reaches across borders, religions and political beliefs; never before have so many performers come together in song, from around the world, to raise awareness of the need for help in fighting this deadly disease. For more information please visit letsfindaway From the roots of this song comes a documentary that shows the making of this international project, that unites the world to it’s cause. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did producing it.
