The 32nd Annual Business for the Arts Awards will take place at the
Royal Ontario Museum on October 7th, 2010.

Each year, the Business for the Arts Awards Gala brings together Canada’s foremost business and arts leaders to recognize extraordinary contributions made by individual business leaders and companies who have shown outstanding commitment to the arts.

The Edmund C. Bovey Award

2010 Winner – Gail Asper
Named after the founding Chairman of Business for the Arts, the Bovey Award recognizes an individual business professional who has demonstrated exemplary leadership support of the arts. The winner will receive an award sculpture as well as a cheque for $20,000 to give to the arts organization(s) of their choosing.

The Arnold Edinborough Award

2010 Winner – Mélanie Joly
The Arnold Award is run by Business for the Arts’ young professionals group, artsScene, and recognizes an individual young professional that has demonstrated exemplary leadership and volunteerism in the arts. The winner will receive a unique artwork created by an emerging Canadian artist, as well as acheque for $5,000 to be distributed to the arts organization(s) of their choice.

THE GLOBE AND MAIL BUSINESS FOR THE ARTS AWARDS

The Globe and Mail Business for the Arts Awards recognize companies that show outstanding commitment to the arts in Canada. These companies know the extraordinary impact the arts can make in Canadian communities: sparking creativity in children, providing jobs, drawing tourists, ensuring the vitality of urban centre, and providing new ways of seeing ourselves as Canadians.
