Each year, the Business for the Arts Awards Gala brings together Canada's foremost business and arts leaders to recognize extraordinary contributions made by individual business leaders and companies who have shown outstanding commitment to the arts.
CTV's Seamus O'Regan is this year's Master of Ceremonies.
Seamus is the co-host of CTV's CANADA AM, and the host of Bravo!'s Original Interview Series THE O'REGAN FILES. In 2007, Seamus became the first journalist to be named to Canada's Top 40 Under 40.
THE FOLLOWING AWARDS WILL BE DISTRUBUTED THIS YEAR:
The Edmund C. Bovey Award, recognizing an individual from the business community for outstanding and long-time support of the arts. (This year Mr. Charles Baillie, retired Chairman and CEO of TD Financial Group, will be honoured.)
The Globe and Mail Business for the Arts Awards:
* Award for Best Arts-Entrepreneurial Partnership - Winner: Raymond James
* Award for Most Effective Corporate Program - Winner: TELUS
* Award for Most Innovative Marketing Sponsorship - Winner: Xstrata Nickel
Awards of Distinction to RBC, Canadian North Airlines, and Quality Inn Grand Falls.
The Arnold Edinborough Award, recognizing a young business professional in Canada for outstanding commitment and contribution to the arts. (The 2009 Arnold Edinborough Award recipient will be Marcello Cabezas.)
