Lara St. John The New York based Canadian virtuoso Lara St. John is back with a new album of Bach solo violin music. Over the past few months, it’s been one of the top selling double albums on itunes. Arts&Minds talks to St. John about the challenges faced when making a video for one of the songs.
Two of the most highly anticipated events at the 2010 Open House Festival were a pair of panel discussions called “Compassion and Citizenship” and “The Challenge of Citizenship.” Featuring such luminaries as Senator Romeo Dallaire, writer Pico Iyer and former Governor General Adrienne Clarkson, these discussions dealt with what it means – and what it should mean -- to be a citizen in today’s world.
