In her third Bravo! appearance, Canadian jazz gem Diana Krall treats the intimate Rehearsal Hall audience to her signature smooth and dulcet tones. A retrospective of Krall’s jazz journey, Diana Krall: Live at the Rehearsal Hall features new interviews and performance footage, along with selections from her first Rehearsal Hall experience (1998) and her concert at Toronto’s historic Union Station (2004).
Accompanied by jazz great John Clayton on the bass, Krall performs songs from her latest album, The Very Best of Diana Krall, including the romantic ballad ‘S Wonderful, and the finger-snapping East of the Sun, West of the Moon. Blasts from the past include They Can’t Take That Away From Me and Stop This World. Krall closes the show with her sultry interpretation of Joni Mitchell’s A Case of You.
Between tickling the ivories, Krall discusses how she got her start in the industry; the experience of being mentored by Jimmy Rowles; her husband Elvis Costello’s influence on her music; and the challenges of juggling nine-month-old twin boys and her hectic touring schedule.
